Cuneo Fine Arts – Limited Edition Tailpiece Print by Terence Cuneo

Published by – Terence and Linda Cuneo

Printed by James Haworth Ltd, Leicester.

Limited Edition of 850 prints from the original painting.

A beautiful well kept print in new condition, ideal for any fan of Terence Cuneos work. Stating the title of the print below the painting along with the following explanation of how ‘The Opportunist’ came to be.

Inspiration for this ‘mousey’ tableau came to me after seeing a reproduction of Abraham Solomon’s well known painting, “First Class – The meeting”. When this work was exhibited at the Royal Academy, in 1854, there was an immediate outcry at its obsecene and almost pornographic suggestiveness! In fact, feeling of outraged Victorian morality was so strong  that the artist was persuaded to paint-out his figure of a slumbering parent and reinstate the man, awake and talking earnestly to the young officer opposite. Thus, a necessary degree of decency was re-established. However, I decided to allow myself the luxury of the original, if more deplorable conception.

The size of the print is 17" (43cm) X 14" (36cm).

The title of this print is not actually on the image as shown in the above picture.

Once purchased the print will be rolled in acid free tissue paper and dispatched in a heavy duty tube by courier with tracking facility.
