Air Drop - Signed, Original edition, Naval print by Terence Cuneo

This painting depicts an air drop from a plane onto an aircraft carrier over the channel next to Beira, Mozambique. Between 1966 and 1975, the Royal Navy conducted a blockade of Beira’s port, to prevent oil from reaching Southern Rhodesia. This duty was known as the Beira patrol, sometimes as ‘oil watch’. The ships included the HMS Lowestoft and HMS Rhyl, supported by air patrols from the HMS Ark Royal, later replaced by the HMS Eagle.

These were joined by the HMS Plymouth and HMS Minerva. The poster states: ‘this reproduction is from a single edition limited to 850 copies signed by the artist. Reproduced by kind permission of The Commandant Postal and Courier Depot, R.E. Copyright 1980'. Signed by Cuneo in the bottom right hand corner.

Upon purchase this print will be dispatched in a strong tube with tracked courier delivery.
